Play Friends Bingo - 90 Ball Bingo

Published On 1st February 2023

Back in April 2019 there was a lot of doom and gloom across the former Cozy Games network. Many sites were closing down to pave the way for what is today called the Entain Network consisting of Gala, Foxy, Ladbrokes, Coral and Cheeky. However there was some good news. Foxy Bingo was working hard to re-establish itself amongst the "go-to" places to play online. They launched a new TV show themed bingo room - based on the hit comedy series, Friends. Little did we know that this would be a fore-runner for the Entain version of Corrie Bingo. Anyway back to Friends Bingo and eyes down for the one where hopefully you get a full house.

All About Friends

Friends - in case you didn't know - was an incredibly popular US comedy show that ran for ten seasons between 1994 and 2004. It featured the lives of six friends living in New York and was responsible for making Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer global superstars. It now has a cult status and still watched by fans old and new. TV quiz shows have often been the catalyst for slots and bingo games, but Foxy are hoping that the continued interest in Friends will translate to a popular online bingo room.

How To Play Friends Bingo

Friends Bingo is a 90 Ball game that originally was exclusive to Foxy Bingo but is now available at all it's sister sites including Gala and Cheeky. The bingo room itself is very basic and to get the "Friends" look the bingo cards use the same font that's associated with the show. A very small picture of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross is in the top left of the room whilst the bingo cards reside atop a background of New York. Players in the Friends Bingo room can change the ticket size, switch off the sounds and make changes to settings such as dauber. The Friends Bingo game itself plays just like any 90 ball game with the aim of the game being to complete a full house. Ticket prices are usually 10p each and when you buy tickets you can assign yourself to a team represented by each of the Friends. After eyes down the numbers are called and marked off on your card as appropriate until there are winners of one line, two lines and a full house. We had hoped that the bingo calls would be done in a Friends style - perhaps even by Joey - but instead the familiar northern twang of "Foxy" presides over the proceedings. This does negate the Friends element somewhat.

Central Perk Jackpot

The big feature of Friends Bingo is the Central Perk Ticket. This is an additional bingo card that comes into play at the end of the game. Players that have tried The X Factor Bingo at Mecca, Coronation Street Bingo at Gala or DOND Multiplier at Sky will be familiar with this format. If the number called for the full house in the base game is unmarked on the Cental Perk Ticket then the FH winner gets an added prize. The prize amount is determined by whether the number completes a line or full house on the Central Perk Ticket. Any number crossed off the Central Perk Ticket results in a win of £2. However, completing a line results in a £20 win whilst two lines means a prize of £25. Complete the full house and there's a £75 jackpot to take home. The jackpot ticket is the same for all players and it's reset after the full house is won. These are less than when the game first launched. The team aspect of the game is a community jackpot. Each Friend represents 15 numbers and if a full house is called within those numbers (e.g. Phoebe is 1 to 15) then that team shares a £3 pot.

Our Verdict

TV themed bingo rooms can be popular with players and Foxy will be hoping that Friends will work well for them. This isn't the first time either as they had games featuring TOWIE when they were on the Dragonfish platform. Friends is definitely a move "up market" although it's obviously not as modern as something like The Chase or Tipping Point. The game itself does lack a bit of oomph. The Central Perk Jackpot is a nice addition, but we don't feel the "Friends" angle. The look is definitely Friends, but Foxy could really do with some classic clips or a relevant caller to just give the game more polish. We do like the team aspect of the game as that gives players an extra element of interest in the full house number. We are surprised to see that Foxy have lowered the prize pots and that possibly suggests that players haven't quite taken to the Friends room? That all said, it's actually good to see something new emerge on the Entain platform and we expect to see more from Foxy in the future.
