Earlier in the year we featured Beat The Timer, a free to play game that was available to play daily at Grosvenor Casino. We quite liked the game as it was different to the usual wheel winners and instant win style games offered by other brands. In our view it had a lot more player interactivity. The bad news is that, sadly, Beat The Timer has been beaten and is no longer on the Grosvenor Casino roster. In it's place though is a new free to play game called Hi-Lo. This is a simple card game where you need to predict whether the next card will be higher or lower. Play your cards right and you could win up to £100 cash. There are also free spins and golden chips up for grabs too.
How To Play Hi-Lo
Hi-Lo is available to play daily at Grosvenor Casino. No deposit is required to play and it's accessible to new and eligible players. Importantly, players who have never made a deposit will only be able to play Hi-Lo a maximum of 7 times. To play Hi-Lo first head over to the promotions page and login. You'll then be shown a game screen with three playing cards lying face down. Click 'Start' and the game begins with the first card being turned. If you don't like the look of the first card - for example it lies in the mid range of numbers like a 7 or 8 - then you can elect to change the card. This is the only time this particular option occurs. Once you're happy with the first card you then choose whether the next card will be Higher or Lower. If you're correct the game continues but if you're wrong then it's game over. if you get to play the final card again you must choose Higher or Lower.
Play Your Cards Right
If you successfully turn over all three cards then you're a winner and as a reward get awarded a prize. The outcome of the prize is random and not based on anything related to the game (other than turning the three cards correctly). The prizes you can win playing Hi-Lo are as follows: Free Spins (between 1 and 20); Cash up to £100 and Golden Chips up to £5; The prize you've been awarded will show on screen and you're given the option to accept or decline the prize. We're not quite sure why anyone would decline the prize because any wins from the spins or chips are paid in cash therefore no wagering terms apply. Free spins are only available on selected slots whilst the Golden Chips may only be used on Mega Fire Blaze Roulette, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, All Bets Blackjack and Cash Collect Roulette. Note that any spins or chips are only valid for three days. If you don't use them within that period then they're lost.
Win Up To £100
Although Grosvenor Casino's Hi-Lo states that you can win up to £100 cash it falls into the same frustrating pit as other free games like The Bonus Drop, Instant Wins and Paddy's Wonder Wheel. This means that although we know that cash can be won there's no indication whether it's a guaranteed to be won daily prize; whether there are any other cash prizes available; the chances of winning a cash prize; and if anyone has previously won the top prize. We don't know why gambling brands are reluctant to provide these details - or reveal who's winning - but it does make you wonder if anyone actually does win anything significant. According to ASA "promoters must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place" - yet after many years of free to play bingo, slots and casino games - do you know of any, other than Tombola, that has actually announced a winner of their main free play game prize?
